Admissions Overview

Mater Dei welcomes motivated students who will both benefit from our school community and contribute to its success. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, religion, or national / ethnic origin in its admissions and administrative policies.

Admission to Mater Dei is based on more than test scores. In reviewing a student’s application, the Admissions Committee takes a holistic approach and considers all available information about each student. Mater Dei sponsors an annual Admissions Open House for prospective students and their parents in mid-October. Private Tours are also conducted throughout the year on a request basis.

Interested students are invited to learn more about Mater Dei by spending a day on campus shadowing a student who shares their interests. All visits and tours are arranged through the Admissions Office.

To further explore the possibility of empowering your future success by attending Mater Dei, please contact our Admissions Office at 732-671-9100 for more information and to schedule an appointment.

CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL PLACEMENT TEST

In order to be considered for admission to Mater Dei as a Freshman, you must take this placement test and you must have an application on file at Mater Dei prior to the test date. The placement test is given at several locations throughout Monmouth County in the Fall, including Mater Dei prep. Please call the Admission Office to learn more about the testing dates.

Students planning on attending Catholic High School may take this test at any location approved by the Diocese of Trenton. This test is used primarily to determine freshman year course level placement for the incoming student and is not a test of eligibility for admission to any Catholic high school.

Please plan to take the test at Mater Dei Prep and indicate Mater Dei Prep as your first choice when you register for the test.
